Colin Wixted, 58, is the Senior Senator from the great state of Indiana. During his ten year tenure in the Senate he has made a name for himself as a moderate voice and a true conscience of the Senate. Senator Wixted has always put himself forward as a great advocate of the free market and social freedoms. He has continually pushed for spending cuts and caps on spending while in the Senate and has worked to try and lower the the budget and trade deficits as well as continually supporting personal freedoms from government intrusion. Senator Wixted votes based on his belief in the ideology of liberty and is a true principaled moderate, able to see the debate from both sides yet voting on his convictions. Vote Wixted in the upcoming primaries; A True Small-Government Conservative For a Richer Tomorrow.

Sorry, that's more than five sentences.  Just trying to be fair here. Smiley

Alexander Bernstein, is the current Secretary of State. Bernstein plans to take the diplomatic skills and ability to both work with others and take the lead that he has utilized as Secretary. Bernstein rose up quickly through the ranks of the State Department and had been a deputy for four years prior to his appointment. While viewed as quite liberal on many issues, Bernstein has been able to separate his political views from getting the job done while heading the State Department. Bernstein was educated at Cornell University, but moved back to Kansas before starting in Washington at the State Department.

David Hanover has dropped out of the race for the presidency due to "personal reasons".

Alright, sorry for the delay.  I had stuff to do last night and the thread took me a while to create as well.

The endorsement thread is now up and running, and will remain open until Tuesday 12th (72 hours from when it opened).

Would we be able to "campaign" for donations in this thread?

What about people who already used this tread to support and donate?  Do theirs still count?

Sorry to create more work for Joe, but can't he just move all the posts over to that thread?

Preferably not.  I'd like it so that the only form of explicit campaigning at this stage is your character reference and issue positions.  However, you may use any tactics you like to canvass people for money (except extortion, harrassment, etc.  Let's be responsible about this, folks.), but it's be best to do it privately.

I can't literally move them as I don't have mod powers.  But I won't be manually re-posting them there either.  I did make it specifically clear at least three times that endorsements in this thread would not count.  I know it's harsh, but I don't feel like clearing up after people who can't read the rules.

How do we decide the VP candidate?  Is it going to be one of us?

Would it be possible to cut down on the conversation in the Endorsement thread?

That'll be decided once we get well into the general election campaign.  The winning candidates will be allowed to pick their own running mates, but their choices will not necessarily be limited to the runners up in the primaries.

I wouldn't mind, but unfortunately I can't really stop it.

I'm really miffed I missed the ship on this, the Democratic field lacks a 'fully-fledged' hawk, though 2 or 3 are 'hawkish' Smiley

Hold up, I'm just totaling the rest of the endorsement money.  I haven't even written up the next stage yet.  I would have done it while we were waiting for endorsements, but I've been kinda busy.  Sorry guys. Sad
