Dude, if you’re looking to the oil companies to wean us off of oil, they you’re going to waiting a very long time.

Thats what you were advocating.
Obviously you know nothing about economics, politics, or demand.

show me were I advocated looking to the oil companies to come up with an alternative to oil.  There is no reason why they would do that.

I can't wait till the day the NIMBY people like conan are all laboring in forced labor camps in antarctica. If you bitches can't take wind pwoer tubrines or oil rigs? Too damn bad. ITs people liek you who are why we even still are bothering with fossil fuels(your whole ZOMG NUKLEAR POWER IS TEH UNSAFE). Actions have consequencesa. I hope you remember that phrase when the DHS stormtroopers break down your door to take you to antarctica.

I can name a reason, I just didnt have to. For example, I dont want to see oil rigs off the beach and i dont want them to contaminate my beach.

Most oil rigs are at least over 20 miles off shore.

I can't speak for other Democrats, but I personally have no problem with drilling as long as it is 100 pecent  (or as nearly as is practical) safe. However, I do not feel that risking environmental damage is worth it when we are only pursuing a short term solution anyway; the primary focus should be on the long term solution to the problem.

Unfortunately you have to address the short-term problems before long-term solutions are available.

Agreed. That's why I don't understand the envirowhackos. We can't just say "we need a solution" and do nothing to solve the current problems. I simply don't understand why both problems can't be getting worked on at the same time.
