The candidate in question is in favour of:

*Federal job training programmes
*Safeguards for collective bargaining
*A rise in the minimum wage
*Protection of workers "in event of adversity or unemployment"

And has the following to say about healthcare:

"In this land of plenty, no one should be denied adequate medical care because of his financial condition".

Knowing only that they are liberal on a select group of labour-related economic issues wouldn't decidedly sway me either way.

It's doubtful. They're definitely pro-big government on the wrong issues for me.

Not crazy about some of his/her stances, but I'd give em a fair shake..."maybe"

A pinch to fiscally liberal for my tastes, but the importance of the minimum wage to me might push me to vote for them if the opposistion is not to my standards.

Probably. The last part about health care gives me pause.

If they were also liberal on social issues, certainly.

It obviously depends on the other choices available as well as on his other stances.

^^^^^^^

And if they were not liberal on social issues, it would depend on the other candidate.

Would I vote for him? No, as I know who he is, and those positions don't quite match my own any way Smiley

Depends on his positions on other key issues.

The biggest question, aside from the other issues, is how the health care program would be made up and paid for.

Yeah, I wouldn't have voted for him, knowing who else ran.
