Nay

Just because these people arent in regions, doesnt mean they dont deserve a living wage.

Agreed, but what's a living wage in DC differs substantially from the Atlasian outlying territories.

Senator Speedy, this bill is specific in only applying to the District of Columbia. If you wish, you can introduce a more substantial bill of an increase in federal minimum wage.

Senator Speedy, this bill is specific in only applying to the District of Columbia. If you wish, you can introduce a more substantial bill of an increase in federal minimum wage.

The original Bill pertained to the District of Columbia and federal territories; however, Ernest raised concerns in the SPAT that pointed out that it was too high a level in relation to the Pacific territories, citing American Samoa as an example. He said that raising the minimum wage there to $7.20 would be the equivalent of increasing the minimum wage in Wisconsin from $6.50 to $17.33

As a result the Fourteenth Senate was on course to reject it; therefore, now that it has been re-ontroduced Senator Jas saw fit to amend the Bill to apply to the District of Columbia only

With 6 'Ayes', 2 'Nays' and 0 Abstentions, this amendment has passed

I see now. My apologies, I was unaware of this information, a fault on my part.

No need to apologise, an innocent mistake with a good-hearted sentiment. Smiley
