We are entering the homestretch of this 2006 mid-term election campaigning.  We are officially 59 days (as of Saturday, September 9, 2006 at 7:00 am EDT) from the Tuesday, November 7, 2006 elections.

We are also 1/4 of the way through September 2006, so what do you think the middle and the end of September and October will bring?

Given President Bush's dismal approval ratings and a lot of Republicans starting to distance themselves from the President, will he be campaigning for as many Republican candidates as he did in 2002?  Will it help or hurt the Republicans?  I know he's already done so in Georgia, but will it help or hurt the Georgia GOP.

On the other side of the aisle, how visible will DNC Chairman Howard Dean be in propelling his party to control of the House and Senate and the White House in 2008?

Will we see the dawn of the 2008 Presidential/Congressional elections?

One more thing to post on.  Will we know the makeup of the House and Senate by 11:59 pm (EST) Tuesday night or will we have to wait until the calendar turns to Wednesday, November 8 for the dust to settle?

Please respond to these questions.  If you have any congressional maps, please post them.

Well, one answer to your questions:

I think we will have to wait into Wednesday for final results.  As I see the election right now, there are several Senatorial races that will be very, very, very close.  Missouri for instance.
