Some of us enjoy the media component of election campaigns, so I figured we could dedicate an entire thread to TV & Radio ads and direct mail.

Plus, this will cut down on the amount of individual ad threads.

I saw some for the Connecticut Democratic primary for governor that were interesting.

An ad for DeStefano (the winner) said that Malloy's health care plan was bad because he depended on funding from "Bush."

I have real pet peeve with ads that are designed to appeal to stupid people, as this one was.  What is funding from "Bush?"  Is the president going to write out a personal check to pay for the health care plan?  Funding from "Bush" is in actuality federal funding, which Democrats generally regard as a great positive since they don't think anybody has to pay for it.

Martin O'Malley
Toughest Challenges
Believe

Bob Ehrlich
Another Difference

Ehrlich's ads have pretty much sucked, except for his first ad.

I haven't seen any Pawlenty ads yet, but all of Hatch's have been pretty damn good:

Pretty standard if you ask me, but good nonetheless. Maybe there are some FL hot button issues in there that I am not aware of.

Property Taxes and insurance costs are the two issues that mean anything here right now. Davis wants to maintain or possibly raise property taxes and he has offered no plan to stop skyrocketing insurance costs. Crist HAS kept property taxes low and helped to fight off hikes while he has been a strong critic and helped shoot down insurance companies when they ask for hikes in rates. That's why he talks about "unifying" voters from all over the spectrum.

Two good ones from Ehrlich

Crime
More Time

Guess these are the ones States was waiting for.  I could sit here and debate the accuracy of the ads, but we would just be running in circles.

This is just my opinion, but if Ehrlich doesnt pull within the MOE after this barrage of attacks, Im moving this one to lean-Dem with the intent of calling it for O'Malley.

I take it your current map isn't a serious one?

I've always thought O' Malley has a clear edge. He's beat Ehrlich in almost every poll, the best he's done since January is tie (at 41% from a hardcore GOP polling firm)

I never created that map.  It just popped up one day.

527's have made their way to MD

Their ads are short (15 seconds), but they hit hard.  They have another ad focusing on the BGE rate increase, but its not listed on their site.
