This is the official thread where you can donate money to whichever candidates you want to support in their quest to win their party nomination.

If you have no clue what I'm talking about, please see this thread.  Particularly this post.

A quick recap of what you do:

  • You have an imaginary sum of $3 million.  This is yours to donate to as many candidates from either party as you like.  The profiles of all candidates are detailed in the first six posts below.
  • Simply post here the name(s) of the candidate(s) you wish to endorse, and how much money you wish to donate.
  • This thread will remain open until exactly 72 hours from now, which will be Tuesday 12th.  After that point I'll lock the thread and finalize each candidate's totals.
  • After the Iowa caucus and New Hampshire primary, this thread will reopen, and anybody who will not have already endorsed anybody may do so.  This means that you don't need to endorse anybody over the next three days if you don't want to.  However, you will not be permitted to donate only part of your $3m now, and the rest later.  It's either all of it now or nothing.
  • Do not donate more than your $3 million allocation.  If you do so, I will warn you that this has happened, and urge you to correct it.  If there are still endorsements that are over the $3m limit at the time of this thread's closing, that person's endorsement will be entirely discounted.
  • If you change your mind after endorsing your candidates and wish to endorse somebody else, feel free to edit your post.  However, since this thread will be locked after it closes, obviously no more corrections may be made after that point.
  • Do not post your endorsements in the other (main) thread.  If you have done so, it has been ignored.  This doesn't mean that you are disqualified or anything; you simply need to post your endorsements here instead.
  • As a precaution against 'illegal activities', only forum members with 50 posts or more will be permitted to post endorsements.  They must have the requisite number of posts at the time of posting.

If you have any questions, feel free to post them here and I'll try and answer as quickly as possible.

    ---------

    Notice to all candidates

If there is a mistake in your profile below, please notify me ASAP and I'll correct it.  However, if you have found that your character reference is missing any sentences, that is because I have deleted anything from the end which made the reference longer than five sentences.  You were notified and warned about this.  If you want to made any corrections or edits to your reference, please submit them to my by PM.

Damn, I forgot to mention in the opening post that no endorsements will be accepted from anybody with less than 50 posts.  But since I neglected to mention that before, I'll make an exception in your case.

From now on, nobody with 49 posts or less may endorse a candidate.  (I've amended Post #1 to reflect this.)

Um, you can't endorse anybody else either.  The candidates and myself are the only people who can't make any donations, and you'll be getting $1m of your own money anyway. Tongue

(Think about it, would you see John McCain donating millions of dollars to the Rudy Giuliani for President PAC? Wink )
