Rudy wouldn't stand a chance in the South. Way too liberal.

Against a more liberal Democrat the South would vote for Rudy. Those southern religious right look dumb but they aren't as dumb as you think. They'd rather have a tough on defence Republican than a leftist Democrat, especially if Rudy makes a few concessions to them like Supreme Court nominees and major cabinet positions.

What would happen if the Democrats nominated Lieberman? which way do u think the South would fall then?

Personally i think it would be split between the two.

Since that's about as likely to happen as them picking Dennis Kucinich its nothing more than a hypothetical. In that case I'm guessing the South would be turned off by his Judaism as well as his other liberal positions.
