By-election caused when MPP Gerard Kennedy resigned to run for the leadership of the federal Liberals.

This one will be close between the NDP and the Liberals. There has been some negative campaigning against the NDP.  The NDP's candidate, Cheri DiNovo a United Church minister has been accused of comparing media coverage of Karla Homolka's release from prison to the persecution of Jesus Christ. Also the Liberals claim she supports the ordination of pedophiles and axe-murderers. NDP MP Peggy Nash holds the riding federally. Polls close at 8:00

EDIT: Lib lead down to 0.5%

I don't know which areas are reporting unfortunately. I'm not familiar enough with the riding to know where the good areas are, but I'd reckon the south  part for the NDP .

This is excellent news. I expected Watson would win by at least 5%, but so far so good Cheesy

DiNovo now has a 3.6% lead

Wow, I am really surprised. I figured that the low % the federal NDP is in the polls would have effected this race, but I guess the negative campaigning hurt the Liberals more Smiley
