Yes, these are his actual campaign signs. I guess the Republican brand must not be playing very well.

I'm pretty sure those signs are meant in the same sense as the term "Reagan Democrats" -- that is, Democrats that support Reagan, or (in this case) a Democrat that supports Steele.

He took a beating for it in the press this morning.  Hopefully they'll nail him again tonight.  Of course, his campaign will claim its similar to the 'Regan Democrat' thing, but even Ehrlich doesnt go this far.

Some of his bumper sticker say 'Another Democrat for Ehrlich' and the first part of the phrase is rather small.  Steele is running like a little punk from his party label.

How stupid does Steele think people are? When they go into the ballot box they will know what (R) and (D) mean.

If people are genuinely being fooled into thinking Steele is the Democrat (perhaps assuming that if one candidate is white and the other black, the black must be the Dem) that might explain Steele running one point ahead in the one recent poll.

When people actually get into the voting booth, of course, that won't be a problem anymore.

Does it really matter?  Steele is pretty much done anyway.

Guess you missed the SUSA poll.  He's ahead.  Unless of course you believe that poll was an outlier.

I did miss that one but it does seem to be an outlier.  You would think a post-primary bounce would help Cardin, not Steele.

What the poll indicates (also what Im hearing and seeing here on the ground) is the African American community is very upset.  They're not motivated for the all white male ticket in MD.  They're pissed at the way Mfume was treated early on in the primary.

Steele is capitalizing by pulling little stunts like this and keeping his name and face in the headlines while avoiding the issues.

This race is competitive much more compeitive than most think, trust me.

Im not claiming to be the know all pundit in MD, but I have a few friends with close ties to the inner circles of MD Democratic politics and they're telling me the party 'bosses' are very worried about Cardin.  O'Malley is in decent shape, but his success also hinges on AA turnout.  But overall, the worry has shifted away from O'Malley and to Cardin.

Obama's comming to town.

Cardin juts sent out a blast email - Obama will be hosting an endorsement rally for Cardin this Wednesday. Mikulski and Sarbanes will be on hand also to throw their support behind Cardin, too. If the media runs with it, he should receive a nice little boost.

Hillary Clinton will also be in town tomorrow to raise some cash for the candidates and state party.

Hopefully we’ll see a nice little bounce with high profile Dem’s comming through.

Next up, the big dawg in October.

Good, perhaps Obama can get it through to those African-American Democrats flirting with Steele that the issues are more important than the color of Steele's skin

Clinton and Obama should be enough to end this thing.

Also this is unrelated but is it me or does Martin O' Malley look kind of like Russ Feingold?
