Idk what the answer is to this question.

I personally am quite pleased w/Ford's votes on illegal immigration and gay marriage, two of my biggest issues.  Corker's flip-flopping scares me.

I see a lot of Democrats on the other hand who see Menendez as a slimeball crazy left-winger that he is and want to support Kean.

Both have party labels holding them back in the battle to control the senate.

I am pulling for Harold Ford Jr., is it wrong for me to this?
Is it wrong for Democrats to endorse Kean?

Just throwing this out there

Of course not.  Vote people, not party.

I keep trying to think of something different, but all I can say is "of course not."  so.

But doesn't it hurt the party in a Election that could decide majority?  That's all I'm saying

I seriously want Ford to win and Chafee to lose though

Yes it is.  Party loyalty is of the utmost importance; you should always support your party's candidate in any race, no matter who it is.

Oh wait.  I mean "no".

But what's the point of your party having control if you don't agree with them?

When the other party disagrees much more.

I really want the reps to keep that senate, but as long as that happens, I really want Ford to win (and Webb, Tester, and Casey).

I don't care what Republicans do, but I feel it's unacceptable to send Republicans to the senate over Democrats in a competitive senate election if you consider yourself a Democrat.

I dunno; take Rhode Island, for example. I like Sheldon Whitehouse and think he'd be a fine senator, but I really don't have the heart to kick Lincoln Chaffee out. After all, he was smarter than most Democrats (and myself, unfortunately) when it came to the Iraq War.

However, I definitely support Menendez over Kean. If this race didn't matter, I'd probably consider Kean (although he really does seem quite dumb).

If this wasn't this year, I would be supporting Chafee in Rhode Island and maybe Kean in New Jersey. This year being this year, i support all Democrats or those promising to caucus with the Dems (except for Snowe as her challenger has no chance).

You call Chafee smart just because you agree with him, then have the nerve to call Kean dumb?

If by 'wrong' you mean inconsistent, counterproductive, and stupid, then yes.

Of course if you are not a multi-millionaire, Downwiththe, your support of the Republican Party is foolish anyway.

If we're judging intelligence on speaking (well, how you say things when you post) or debating then you are in a league below Kean.

My support of the Republican party has more to w/social issues than economic, so the whole point of your statement is thrown out

The individual candidates don't matter.  Voting for Chafee allows the GOP to maintain committee chairmanships and so on.  Too much is at stake for you to back Chafee because you like him.  Chafee's alright, but a vote for him is a vote for Coburn and Bush and Cheney and the entire Republican party.

Dumb, as in the context of politics (oratorial skills/debating play a huge factor of course), not within the context of intelligence. Within this context, I could also call people such as George W. Bush and George Allen "dumb," even though they're both probably quite intelligent.

How does that make me a horrible person?  I would like you to find reasonable Dems who say Republicans are "horrible people" if they are social conservatives, until gay marriage bans fail in a referendum vote, I'll believe that the majoirty of the country isn't social conservative

..................................................

And the left cant seem to get much respect? Hmmm......
What a ridiculous comment.

DWDL has a perfectly reasonable cause to be a Republican.

Is it wrong? Certainly not. Views and personality, not party, lead votes, or at least they should.
