Finally we agree on something.

Poor Olmert. He tried to use the Lebanon War to establish his security credentials. He didn't have the same military background that Ariel Sharon did, so he went in guns blazing to prove himself. Sadly, he didn't achieve his goal.

I think Olmert's approval problems began when the guns stopped blazing.  He listened to the "world" and handed the terrorists a percieved victory.

Why?  Because he doesn't support using restraint against terrorists?

Because he is a war monger, a hate monger, and a fear monger.  Israel doesn't need extremists in charge, it needs men like Olmert and Sharon.

Olmert isn't going to last a full term. Hopefully he'll be ditched in favor of Peres before that and there isn't a new election until much later when Netanyahu can be beat. A Netanyahu victory means the reoccupation of Gaza, an end to any West Bank withdrawl, and of course the violence growing much worse and many more people killed on both sides which of course will make jmfcst super-happy.

And Olmert and Sharon arent war mongerers? Sharon led a massacre in South Lebanon in the 1980's and Olmert killed hundreds of innocent Lebanese women and children earlier this year.

I hope someone like Peres comes to power. Someone who can think logically without bombing the crap out of his neighbours.

The terrorists' perceived victory had nothing to do with Olmert stopping to bomb the crap out of Lebanon, destroying airports, schools, warehouses, residential areas, etc, in the vain hope that it might somehow get Hezbollah (they clearly had neither a plan nor any idea where Hezbollah militia were hiding) and killing thousands innocents, but because the military campaign had ZERO effect on Hezbollah's military capabilities.

Did the number of attacks against Israel decrease or increase while Netanyahu was in power?

I doubt Kadima will accept a Peres lead coalition and after his handling of the Lebanon crisis as Minister of Defence he will be in for some rough times ahead once he goes in front of the electorate. Not only was Olmert's credibility destroyed by Lebanon but also Peres credibility and ability to handle the defence of Israel.

Is that possible? 22% Kadima is dead w/o Sharon.

Netanyahu is a shameless charlatan who divided the country and undermined Israel's security. "Bibi" played to the fears of voters and ran an agressively racist administration that harmed Israel's soft power.

At the time, decreased. But they won't decrease when he invades and reoccupies Gaza.

You are correct.  And so the truth emerges.

Considering that the objective was to destroy the peace process, the suicide bombers succeeded admirably. Hamas's current doctrine and its control over the Palestinian-administered territories is testament to that.
