Yes

The new SUSA poll is basically it for me. Any incumbent with a net 14 point disapproval is going to have a tough time winning. Add in the fact that he's a Republican in a blue (red on Atlas) state in a bad Republican year against the best possible Democratic opponent, nad you have a worst case scenario.

Yes. I feel comfortable saying he will lose by at least 7% and most likely it will be by a lot more then that.

I'm not going to say anyone ever in a competitive race is done in September, but Santorum is certainly pretty close to my definition of it.

Finished? No.

But as I said from the start of the campaign, it didn't look too good to begin with.

The result isn't going to be as bad as the polls indicate, not even close.

No, Casey could always get caught having sex with a 15 year old girl or something like that, but barring that type of thing happening, yes.

Santorum can't win, but Casey could still lose.

Ahh, you missed my disclaimer about missing the obvious b/c I typed the list fast, also I think Tarrant pulls to within 15 when all is said and done, and possibly takes a stab if Leahy retires in 2010.

In all likelihood, yes.  Of course there's always a possibilty of him pulling an upset, but I'll be very surprised.

He's not done, but I think Casey is going to win (yes I know, I need to update my map).  I also just saw the Santorum Guiliani ad: brilliant.

I saw the disclaimer still no excuse for missing the state next door Smiley

Anyway I find it near impossible for Tarrant to get within 15.  Sanders is very well liked in the state, it is an extemely liberal state with deep hatred towards Bush 7 the current GOP.  Tarrant will be lucky to get within 25 and likley lose by 30.

No, but as of info yet, I personally believe he will lose.

And DWTL why are you so obsessed with Republican success in VT?

Haha I have been wondering that since he first came on here. Maybe he is moving up there.

Idk, I went to upstate NY for vacation and saw some Tarrant commercials, went to VT and saw a lot of signs, and really liked the guy and his message.  I also think Rainville has a shot.  Personally, I have no idea why I am so into the race Smiley

Well Rainville has a shot for sure (although I expect her to lose in the end) but Tarrant... uhh...not so much.

Stick a fork in your boy, Keystone, he's done.  Slap some butter on him, too, 'cuz he's toast.

We can't get enough comedic play over here out of his "man on dog" comment.  The minds of some people...

Rick's a real piece of work.  That guy running against him kind of seems like a tool, though.  This just from watching the MTP interview a couple of weeks ago.  But hey, whatever.

Bob Casey is kind of the living, breathing definition of a tool.

Damn. He was counting on the California area of the state to carry him to victory, too...

I think his senate career is over, but I could see him finding an important  niche.

I predict he will be elected Mayor of Penn Hills as the candidate of the Pennsylvania for Santorum Party.

He wouldn't be done in elected politics. I honestly think he'd take a shot at the open seat in 2010 or maybe even Governor.

Yes, I think he could be the Republicans' VP nominee.

He's an incumbent who hasn't led in A LONG TIME.

I would never say he's got no chance... but it's very close to that.

Given the purpose of this thread was largely a way to gloat should he win... I wonder what the somewhat over-optimistic Reps will say when he loses?

No, this thread was for record purposes, not gloating. All I ask is that those who gave myself and others a hard time because of Santorum's chances look back on all that they've said and how confident they were that he was finished. I don't need to gloat - a win is enough for me.

By the way, Santorum hasn't led at all.
