Just kidding but here is a poll if he did:

WNBC-TV Marist Poll,

Codey - 43%
Kean - 39%

Bradley - 45%
Kean - 40%

Menendez - 37%
Kean - 42%

Codey is no surprise, but Bradley is.  Despite there being no shortage of Democrats in New Jersey, they sure do like to recycle their candidates.

Also funny:

David Letterman's Top-10 chapter titles for McGreevey's Book:

10) "The Day I Got Caught Governing Myself;"

9) "How to Pretend to Like Girls for 47 Years;"

Cool "From Schwar zenegger to Pataki: Governors I'd Like to Oil Up;"

7) "Another Confession - I Can't Resist Entenmann's Pound Cake;"

6) "At First I Just Thought I Was Bipartisan;"

5) "The New Jersey Budget Crisis - What Would Judy Garland Do?;"

4) "A Look at the Governor's Balls;"

3) "Politicians Who Left a Bad Taste in My Mouth;"

2) "How to Push Through a Bill - Or a Steve or a Larry;"

And the No. 1 chapter title - drum roll, please! - "Why I Don't Like Bush."

It's unreal that a switch could happen again.  Apparently switcharoos can only happen for Democrat candidates.  If you live in Texas 22 or Florida 16, too bad.

I'm actually shocked that Kean is even competetive with Codey.

I find it interesting that about seventeen minutes before posting that, you posted another thread detailing how the Republicans in FL-16 will most likely follow the same route that Democrats in FL-22 did in 2004.

Eraser, if Codey was the candidate from the start I agree it would not be competitive, but I think that is b/c the people are fed up of not all Menendez, but NJs Dems on a whole for all their recent shananagans.  Codey would most likely win and the race would certainly move from Leans GOP to Tossup/Leans Dem

Eraser, who is your bet to win right now?

Between Kean and Menendez? Honestly Kean is no doubt ahead right now but the Democratic machine in the state will still be tough to beat. I guess if I had to pick right now, I would go with Kean. It could still easily go either way though.

Fair enough

Seriously does anyone think that a Codey run, despite his immense popularity, spark a lot of controversey and make this a close race and Kean still would have a shot.

No, would be closer than if he was from the start and their would be some controversey, but Codey  would still win by a solid (though not a blowout) margin

At least Bradley isn't as old as Lautenberg, I don't think.  Lautenberg is practically a mummy.

Someone should make two seperate polls on here. One that asks if he will drop out and the other that asks who will replace him on the ballot. They are going to have to do it real soon (if they are going to do it). This guy is going to end up losing the Senate for us.

Seems like Menendez is struggling to nationalize this election.  Very bad news for him.

If he had done that, he would have had the thing won a long time.

The guy is a bonehead and corrupt as all hell. Now this guy just voted for torture in the Senate on top of it.

I don't know about where you are, but up here (Bergen), Codey walks on water. Him switching in would be seen as saving grace against having to choose between a corrupt Democrat and a Republican.

Ah, I am from Bergen too, and I see the same thing about Codey, I am unsure how South Jersey feels about him

Yeah, and he made a commercial about fighting corruption, real bad call
