If a clear majority voted for Kerry, why would it matter?

Option one.  Most of my favorite things are crimes.

I hope the person who kills you thinks that, though I'm sure he doesn't share in your predicalations.

The less Republicans, the better.

Plus places with higher crime tend to be better places to live (for unrelated reasons of course)

Uh, suburbs usually went for Bush.  If they didn't, they weren't 60% Kerry.  I still want a list of town results for New York.

Get a membership. You can get them there.

60%+ Kerry suburbs in Minnesota:

Columbia Heights
Brooklyn Center*
Lauderdale
Spring Lake Park
St. Louis Park
Golden Valley
Richfield
Robbinsdale
Falcon Heights
Hopkins

*Not really suburban and has above average crime.

Option number 2. Lower crime is better, and I'd probably have a lot more in common with people in an area that voted 60 percent for Kerry rather than 80 percent for Kerry.

For Long Island, which has two cities, but is mostly made up of towns (towns are much larger than the cities, vthe data for all the various villages on LI are unavilable)

Due to the 9/11 bump only the city of Long Beach went to Kerry by 60%, however in 2000 North hempstead twon and the city og Long Beach went to Gore by 60% (just shy of 70% for Long Beach) with the city of Glen Cove, Hempstead Town and east hampton town going to Gore by more than 20 points

I agree, but I wouldn't have much in common with people in an area that voted 80% for Bush either.  Funny my wedding party, if that ever happens, will have Bush voters in it.

How is that funny? We're supposed to believe that people should expect to be excluded from events based on their votes?

Option 4:  The rural areas and small towns that probably did not vote for Kerry, so it would be a good challenge to get Democrats to win here.  The Shenandoah Valley or the Piedmont in Virginia is a good example of a nice place to live.

Depends on where you live.  Suburbs here are Democratic.

There are affluent suburbs here that Kerry won 2-to-1 or more.  He probably won the Seattle suburbs (excluding the exurbs) with over 60%, overall.   Parts of suburban, rich Seattle where he won in excess of 8-to-1.

I'll choose Option 2, although crime isn't necessarily the most important part.  Besides, 80% isn't all that incredibly impressive for an urban area.  As long as I can get to urban areas easily, I'm happy with sleeping in a 60% suburban area.

Sounds allright. I take this option, too.

Also we shouldn't forget that politics is not everything.

I love my town (don't know if it would be called "town" in America, we are about 2000 voters) that goes about 70% CDU (conservatives) as a great place with nice people and a beautiful countryside.

And I would never wan't to live in the ugly, dirty, noisy inner city of Berlin, though Social Democrats, Greens and Socialists get about 80% of the vote there.

It doesn't say that it went 40% for Bush.  So I'll take the second one.  I don't need Democrats.  Republicans are fine as long as they opposed the War in Iraq and don't support torture. You know the sane kind of Republican.

I can live anywhere, really... I don't mind high crime or low crime areas...
