http://www.rasmussenreports.com/2006/BalanceofPower.htm

Because of their last poll, there are now only 2 tossups... NJ and MO. 1 Lean Rep, VA, and the other competitive ones are lean dem. Tennessee is now leans dem.

It was premature to change the rating this quickly.

I don't think it leans Dem.  But I do remember when I said Ford had a good chance of taking this race months and months ago the normal GOP hacks went to town on me. =)

If TN leans DEM, then NJ leans GOP.

Honestly, I can't see Ford winning East TN with Corker's being from Chattanooga, nor the red-neck rural counties in Middle TN, which would mean he'd lose.

In the end, I think NJ will stay DEM and TN will stay GOP. pure partisan political  machines my friends.

yes, but.....

If the momentum in TN stays the same, Ford will win comfortably on election day.  If the momentum in NJ stays the same, Menendez and Kean will be tied in the low to mid 40's on election day.

Ford will certianly NOT run away with this race. If anything, it will be like NJ and be tied up til Election Day. I expect Corker to bounce back.
Let's not forget, this race is not like Obama's 40%+ margin in a very blue state.
This is TN, a red-leaning SOUTHERN state, and there are still ALOT of red-neck country bumpkins who won't vote for Ford for one reason: he's black. That's the wrong reason not to vote for him, but it's the truth

It was premature to change the rating this quickly.

NJ: +5 GOP, +1 GOP
TN: +1 GOP, +5 DEM

NJ should change if either one does, maybe it will change after the poll for NJ is released.  Rasmussen is jumping the gun

So what's the deal with Corker getting all racist and darkening a picture of Ford?

Now you know something is fishy when Ford makes racial allegations because he almost never ever utters his race (unlike others Jesse Jackson cough cough).....

If you guys only knew his family. They make Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton look like Alan Keyes and Barack Obama. They truly are in the same exclusive club with Cynthia McKinney. Jr. seems cool though. He's been my Congressman for 10 years and we've never had any trouble from him. It's amazing what growing up on Capital Hill rather than in South Memphis will do for you.

Desperation. Base desperation.

To think i once had a fairly high opinion of Corker, i just hope it comes back and kicks him in the ass in a few weeks time...

Rasmussen bases his ratings on his own polls, others have called this race a complete tossup.

I do worry that factoring in the "race element" (remember Polls which put Wilder up 10 in VA and he won by 1 IIRC) and the Republican tilt of the state will grant Corker a completley undeserved edge... then again Bredesen's been campaigning with Ford, Ford's campaign has been little short of excellent (remains to be seen what his GOTV operation is like outside of the west of the state) but those two factors together with the national mood could just address Corker's structural advantages.

At leas there is some comfort in knowing that Corker thinks he now has to play the race card to get elected.

And how about this: Ford has a law degree but is not a member of any bar organization. Bush, at a rally for Corker, refers at one point to Ford as a lawyer, Corker does it too. But when Ford himself says "I'm a lawyer" (possibly in jest) Corker's campaign manager calls Ford a liar. What's that about?

Well this came as a HUGE surprise to me this morning. My grandma and grandpa,  long-time Republicans, called me and told me they have jumped ship and are voting for Harold Ford.

Honestly, if people like my grandparents are jumping ship, I really think Ford will win this race. They are voting for bredesen too BTW
