Knowing what I know today, Weicker.  At the time, I don't know.  Did Lieberman run as a Zionist prick back then or was he cool?

All I know is that he ran far to the right of the republican candidate, Weicker, who was similar to Lincoln Chaffee in ideology, at the prodding and backing of conservative Republicans in CT.

Yup, it's a little-known fact that the first time Lieberman was elected to the Senate, it was due to the backing of Republicans as well. He never was a real Democrat.

A Chaffee/Lieberman race and a Weicker/Lieberman race are two of the only scenarios I can imagine where I would definitely vote for the Republican.

Lowell Weicker was a good congressman, a good senator, a good governor, and is a good man.

I would have voted for him in every election and without a doubt against Joe Lieberman.

Weicker.

Most of the people thus far who have voted for Weicker in this poll are doing so out of anger over Lieberman's actions in this election. I highly doubt that most of these people would have went to the booth and voted for Weicker.

Weicker, especially if the Dems were assured of maintaining control of the Senate.

Lieberman, though either would have been quite good. In that case the tiebreaker for me is the party affiliation since that is important for the balance of power in the Senate.

At the time, Lieberman.

In retrospect, Weicker.
