I'd really love to see county results for this race.

I know that Callaway had a plurality lead of 4,039 over Maddox, due to the write-in campaign of Arnall.

Then the Georgia legislature had a vote to decide the Governor.

The vote: 182-66. 30 Republicans and 36 Democrats voting for Callaway, 10 Democrats voting for neither man.

I'm sure the map is.. interesting. Probably large majorities for Callaway in the Atlanta base of the GOP, and maybe in his district (The 3rd).

Any thoughts or info on this race?

Democrats preferred an axe-handle-wielding racist to a Moderate Republican.

Actually, part of the reason why 9 African-American Democrats refused to vote for either man was due to Callaway's civil rights views.
