Ney has pleaded guilty to corruption charges and will likely face 27 months in prison. But he is refusing to resign his House seat despite all the top House leaders asking that he do so. Hastert has said that if he continues to refuse to resign, the House may vote to expel him.

Clearly the GOP wants to rid themselves of bad baggage in this case, so for that reason I hope he sticks around, but on principles, yes he should be.

Until he is convicted, no.  However, he should have resigned by now.

He pled guilty to corruption charges. There is no way he should be allowed to continue as a representative of the US people. He has been given a chance to do the right thing, by resigning, and refused - it's time for him to be removed by other means.

He pled guilty. I don't see what the difference is between that and a conviction. I would assume he's not even going to go to trial unless there are further charges that he has pled not guilty too.

The difference is, legally, he can still perform his job.  That's why I said he should have resigned already, rather than waiting for the law to force him out.

He plead guilty to an offense for which he can be expelled, so yes.  I'd like to see him resign.  I would.

No. He'll be out of office in January and there's no major business until then.
