Yet another reason to support this great American.  Allen did score an A+, though.  Big whoop, I still like seeing Democrats win high ratings from this organization.

I was a bit surprised to see that Tom Davis got a D.  I wonder what their grading scale is.

I'd prefer a C.  I don't fully support what they stand for.

Actually I think they only give out A/B/C/D/F scores to candidates, the plusses and minuses are for current officeholders.

Martha Rainville and Peter Welch both got an A, very odd.

Are those who's names appear in red being endorsed by the NRA?

I personally think the NRA was being generous with some of their ratings. A lot of the candidates that were given "A"s were not what I would call pro-gun.

Rick Perry got an A+, so am I to assume you'll be voting for him now? Smiley

Interestingly, Ron Paul only got a B.....

A perfect example of what I meant, quite generous of the NRA.

I am actually rather peeved. Almost every race that pertains to me, they failed to rate completely.

why do you take pride in hating freedom?

Anyways-the NRA's grading scale is severely flawed.  Gun Owners of America seem to have the grades down better.

Their ratings in my races:

Senate:

(R) MARK KENNEDY A
(D) AMY KLOBUCHAR F

No suprise there.

Governor:

(R) *TIM PAWLENTY A
(D) MIKE HATCH   B-

I assume Hatch supports concealed carry. He's playing it smart.

Secretary of State:

(R) *MARY KIFFMEYER A
(D) MARK RITCHIE ?

I don't see what this job has to do with guns anyway.

Attorney General:

(R) JEFF JOHNSON A
(D) LORI SWANSON B+

Strange, I would've taken Swanson to be an anti-gunner. Well she's playing it smart.

House District 1:

(R) *GIL GUTKNECHT A
(D) TIM WALZ A

Gutknecht still gets the endorsement, but Walz is being smart.

State Senate 23:

(R) MARK PIEPHO   A
(D) KATHY SHERAN C

Sheran's a bit more pro-gun than I expected, but it's not a big issue here anyway.

State House 23B:

(R) LUKE ROBINSON A
(D) KATHY BRYNAERT F

Just what I expected. But it's not a rural district, so no problems.

If so, then the NRA are a load of ol' hacks. There are a number of races I've noticed where Democrats, as well as Republicans score A ratings, yet guess who, invariably, gets the nod?

Pro-gun rights Democrats are as worthy of their endorsement as pro-gun rights Republicans or, at least, in races where the Democratic candidate and the Republican candidate are levelly-high, then they should jointly-endorse both

I'd like this organization more, if in races where Democratic candidates and Republican candidates, who score an equally high rating, were jointly endorsed by the NRA
