Democrats / Democrats, though I am a little concerned for whether this is the best thing for the Democratic Party in 2008.

One of my friends said that if the Dems don't win back Congress this year, they won't win it for a lllllooooonnnnnggggg time...
[/quote]

That could be true for the House. Not for the Senate, unless Bush's next SCOTUS appointees declare the Senate to be unconstitutional.

My absolutely ideal scenario would be fiscal hawk GOP president, with fiscally conservative, socially liberal Republican majorities in the house and senate)

Failing that, a democratic president with that congress...

and in reality the best scenario (unless the GOP wisens up) is the GOP to control the house (and the origin of budget bills) and democrats in the senate (controlling the judiciary)

I would like to have both parties lose both chambers. That's technically impossible, so I'm just going to be disgruntled some more. Tongue

Republican/Republican.

Though far from perfect they may be, they seem better than the awful alternative.  If by some act of fate they retain both chambers, hopefully they will have learned to deal with the big problems like healthcare, illegal immigration, the war, our trade crisis, and the bigger problems with our economy in general.
