Seems about right. I don't expect this race to be a blowout, but Whitehouse by 5 is I think accurate.

Laffey blew this one. Sure, Chafee still won the primary, but only after massive assistance from the national GOP. That gave Whitehouse a new campaign issue. A lot of his ads have focused on how much money the national GOP spent to save Chafee. Now even Chafee can't distance himself from Bush and the national party.

Chafee is a great guy who is going to be crucified simply because of the party line in which his name will appear on the ballot. It's a shame. While I disagree with Chafee on a lot of issues, it's hard for me to not have respect fro a Maverick.
