How likely is this scenario in the Connecticut Senate race?

Connecticut voters get so sick and tired of the bickering and animosity between Independent Lieberman and Democrat Lamont that they turn to Republican Schlesinger as the compromise candidate?

Not even Republicans are supporting Schlesinger at this point.  I seriously doubt that'll happen in the two weeks we've got left.

Extremely unlikely. Most of the Republicans I know are voting for Lieberman. They don't like Schlessinger because of the gambling incident.

They know Lieberman is still a Democrat on most issues but they say he's more of a centrist/bi-partisan than Lamont.

About the same chance as Jimmy Carter running for his second term, and winning.

Um, no. Why would they do that when it would result in a Senator who would caucus with the GOP, which most of the voters of Connecticut almost surely don't want?
