The poll of 460 likely voters ages 18 to 25....The telephone survey, in cooperation with the Pennsylvania Society of Newspaper Editors, was conducted by the Muhlenberg College Institute of Public Opinion between Oct. 19 and 24. The margin of error is 4.6 percent.

Among other findings in the survey, 48 percent said they would vote for Democrat Bob Casey Jr. and 37 percent for Republican Sen. Rick Santorum if the election for U.S. Senate were held today. Fifty-four percent preferred Democrat Ed Rendell for governor over 32 percent for Republican Lynn Swann.
