As a guideline, please only start topics in this section that are directly related to the election in 2004.  These include, primary results (election data, trends, facts, interesting tidbits), general election polls, state-by-state analysis, predictions, candidates' campaigns with focus on electoral strategy, 3rd party candidates and the effect on the election, and when the election results come in, discussion and analysis of those results.

Topics that are not directly connected to the election (even though they may have an impact) should be started in the General Politics board.  These include economic reports, candidate positions, national or international events, accuasations and rebuttals, etc.

Thanks,
Dave

Did you feel guilty? Wink

I guess we're all pretty guilty though, it took some time for Dave to tell us that like 90% of all topics here don't actually belong here... Smiley

No way!  "The pointing finger" and "Mrs. Kerry bashes Wal-Mart but makes money from them" threads were two of the most interesting and entertaining I have found on this forum.  And certainly relevant to this topic.  Dave didn't say campaigning for bush is off-limits, he only reminded us to keep the threads relevant.  Keep up the good posts, jmfcst!

yep it's me.

Tweed employed many immigrants and poorer New Yorkers, I don't see why people have such a beef with him.

If you say so Dave, but I don't understand how comments regarding the personal traits of the 2004 candidtate (such as Bush tripping over his tongue or Kerry's horror-show looks) have any impact outside of 2004.

Grow up.  If Dave doesn't want matters such as economic numbers posted in this folder, then we'll just have to post it in the folder Dave wants us to.  It has nothing to do with "justice", rather it's simple Dave's preference.

Dave's not saying economic conditions and other issues aren't going to impact the 2004 election, he's just saying he wants them in another folder.

Looks like your drudge thread will have to find a new home, no matter how you try to spin it.

Its just a matter of organizational preference, that's all.  I don't mean to criticize, so please don't take offense.

Dave do you ever post on the site using another name? and state? I have always wondered that 100 odd posts is not amazing especially for the guy who runs the site.... on the issue of topics I take your point best to keep things regimented and ordered a bit...

No, I never post under another name. I'd love to participate more in the discussions, but I've been very busy adding content to the site (among other things).  Next up, official primary results for Wisconsin...

Dave, do you read most threads?

Also, did you delete my April Fool's thread? I hope it didn't bother you.

Does seem that way, but I think the one about Kerry's Pointing Finger will end up being quite prophetic. Smiley
