In spite of pre midterm rhetoric from the White House and Rumsfeld, do you believe there is any possibility that Rumsfeld will be replaced or resign after the midterms?

Please discuss.

Thank you.

Bush has stressed over and over and over and over that he will never replace Rumsfeld.  I'm almost completely convinced that Bush is physically unable to admit mistake and to do something that would undo something he previously did, so I find it highly unlikely that this will occur.  I'm fairly sure that people felt there was this possibility immediately after 2004, too.

I still maintain that there is no way Bush would have fired Rumsfeld had he not resigned, but I must admit that I did not expect him to resign, either.

LOL - yes you were.

Didn't Rumsfeld offer his resignation twice already and Bush refused to accept it both times?

Come to think of it, you're right.

Well, I don't know.  Like I said, I never expected him to go, so yes, I was wrong. Tongue

If this happened a month ago Allen and Burns would have won.

I think it's been fairly well-established that Karl Rove has entirely lost his touch. Tongue
