The yellow and orange districts are hysterical.

Obviously, this map wouldn't have a chance of passing.

If it did, it would certainly dilute the influence of that obnoxious Roy Blunt-Branson district.

St. Charles County would totally dominate the district that its in. Based on 2000 Census numbers it would make up about 43% of the whole district's population. From a non-partisan stance thats not good.

In actuality I hate gerrymandering, but from a partisan stance , I would like to see the following for the St. Louis Metro area:

District 1: All of St. Louis City (348,000) and the rest from St. Louis County (300,000).

District 2: Most of St. Louis County (preferably the more Republican parts) (400,000?) and a few nearby counties. (650,000)

District 3: The Democratic Parts of St. Louis County, and all of St. Charles and Lincoln Counties. (Lincoln is the next exurban place that will grow rapidly) (650,000)

CD3: St. Charles (46%), StL County (19%), Lincoln (6%)
CD4: Jefferson (32%), Franklin (15%), Cape Girardeau (11%)
CD5: Boone (12%), Cole (11%), Callaway (7%)
CD6: Greene (38%), Boone (10%), Christian (9%)
CD7: Jasper (17%), Johnson (8%), Newton (8%)

And here's the county splits

Boone: 55/44 Bush in CD5 (40745 votes), 55/44 Kerry in CD6 (35301 votes)
Butler: 55/44 Bush in CD4 (3784 votes), 76/24 Bush in CD5 (12657 votes)
Franklin: 63-56 Bush in CD3 (122 votes), 58/41 Bush in CD4 (45196 votes)
Greene: 78/22 Bush in CD7 (1187 votes), 62/37 Bush in CD6 (124079 votes)
Jackson: 80/18 Kerry in CD8 (79582 votes), 51/49 Kerry in CD9 (236411 votes)
Ray: 55/44 Kerry in CD7 (8276 votes), 80/20 Bush in CD8 (2512 votes)
St. Louis: 83/17 Kerry in CD1 (146122 votes), 56/44 Bush in CD2 (332148 votes), 56/44 Bush in CD3 (64712 votes)

And that produces the following district splits in a 53/46 state

CD1 (Clay-D): 82/18 Kerry
CD2 (Carnahan-D): 56/44 Bush
CD3 (Akin-R): 58/41 Bush
CD4 (Emerson-R): 57/42 Bush
CD5 (Blunt-R): 63/36 Bush
CD6 (Hulshof-R): 63/36 Bush
CD7 (Skelton-D): 66/34 Bush
CD8 (Graves-R): 53/46 Kerry
CD9 (Cleaver-D): 52/48 Bush

So basically this would move Missouri from 5/4 R to possibly 8/1 R, or 7/2 R

What exactly is the point of this?  Why would you want to give Republicans a 7/2 majority?  Lets try and work out how we can elect more Democrats!  Or if not go like Iowa and have a non partisan board to draw up districts.
