Which chambers have flipped control? Which ones might still be too close to call?

In Michigan, I know the Dems have taken the House 58-52, and the Senate is coming down to one seat (32nd district) in which the votes are still being counted. If the Dems can win that seat it would tie the chamber 19-19 and the tiebreaking vote of Lt. Gov. Cherry would give the Senate to the Dems.

I'm hearing that PA is going to be decided by one seat. Then again, some of the races already called or that are just predicted might switch.

Democrats gained seats in both WV chambers; a certain plutocrat's attempt to buy the legislature failed and failed miserably. Money can only buy you so much.

So they've definitely counted all of the ballots in the "broken voting machine" precinct?

I would assume there may still be absentees to count, and that's close enough that a recount is also warranted. But yeah, quite good news if it holds up. GOP has held the State Senate since 1984.

Republican Roger Kahn narrowly defeated Democrat Carl Williams to win the race.

The vote total was 46,313 for Kahn and 45,785 for Williams.

Spoke to soon.

DFL took the State House and increased our Senate margin.

Senate is now 44-23 from the previous 38-29

House is now 85-49 from the previous GOP majority of 68-66

Bad news though is it looks like we lost our Senate Majority Leader.

I heard Democrats took over both houses in New Hampshire. This was the first time they controlled either house since 1911. Yes, 1911, not 1991.

Too bad Pawlenty appears likely to win (it still isn't called yet though...provisional ballots still outstanding maybe?). At least you'll be able to keep him well in check.

Utah Legislature:  No big surprises, still a republican stranglehold, although reps don't look to have gained any ground.

An interesting note:
Utah elected it's THIRD openly gay state legislator.  Christine Johnson (D-Salt Lake City) in District 25 joins Rep. Jackie Biskupski (D-SLC) in District 30, and Sen. Scott McCoy (D-SLC) in District 2.  Not bad for my little backwater!!

Also Speaker of the House Greg Curtis (R-Sandy) District 49, looks to only have held his seat by 46 votes.

That's strange. Mormons are generally about the most intolerant of homosexuality inthe country, after the Westboro Baptists.

And I correct my earlier statement a bit; the Democrats last controlled the NH General Court (lower house of congress) in 1922, not 1911. They currently hold 213 of 400 seats with 34 left to report. (New Hampshire has the fourth-largest legislature in the world, after India, the UK and the US.)

Anyone got the results from PA House and Senate?

Reps will win the latter, the former is unclear

I'm hearing that the House is going to look like a GOP majority of one seat - 102-101. It hasn't been decided yet. I believe there are five races still up in the air.

Hmm.....looking through that list I found it a little ridiculous that a state like New Hampshire has 400 seats in it's House.

Actually, I think it great and wish every state did the same. More representation is always a good thing for democracy.

New Hampshire has the fourth-largest legislature in the world, after India, the UK and the US.

I also find it highly amusing the the Republicans managed to lose more seats in Massachusetts. I mean, the Massachusetts Dems don't even need a supermajority anymore with a Democratic governor! Splits of 141-18 and 35-5 are hardly healthy. Maybe the Green Party should start seriously looking into Massachusetts to win some seats at the state level or something.
