Or is Pres and PM forever unusable garbage, is the learing curve really sharp? Im usually great with these games, but for thier demos i can make elbows or ass of any of it.

It takes a while to figure out what to do and what works and what doesn't, but once you've figured that out, they're not bad.  I wouldn't call them "unusable garbage" (except for PF+P in its current state, but that's an entirely different matter).

I wouldn't call the newest version unusable garbage.  Why, they've released a spiffy (no, really, it's quite good) candidate editor and everything!
