What a scumbag. The GOP saved his sorry RINO lightweight ass and so, now that he LOST, he's switching parties? Who cares? Honestly I think I'm most disgusted with him acting like anyone should even give a crap what he does. I hope he dies a horrible death.

He will die peacefully when the time comes, safe in the knowledge that regardless of what party he is in he stuck to his principles Smiley

this helped supersoulty.  maybe it will help you:

"I've seen horrors... horrors that you've seen. But you have no right to call me a murderer. You have a right to kill me. You have a right to do that... but you have no right to judge me. It's impossible for words to describe what is necessary to those who do not know what horror means. Horror. Horror has a face... and you must make a friend of horror. Horror and moral terror are your friends. If they are not then they are enemies to be feared. They are truly enemies. I remember when I was with Special Forces. Seems a thousand centuries ago. We went into a camp to inoculate the children. We left the camp after we had inoculated the children for Polio, and this old man came running after us and he was crying. He couldn't see. We went back there and they had come and hacked off every inoculated arm. There they were in a pile. A pile of little arms. And I remember... I... I... I cried. I wept like some grandmother. I wanted to tear my teeth out. I didn't know what I wanted to do. And I want to remember it. I never want to forget it. I never want to forget. And then I realized... like I was shot... like I was shot with a diamond... a diamond bullet right through my forehead. And I thought: My God... the genius of that. The genius. The will to do that. Perfect, genuine, complete, crystalline, pure. And then I realized they were stronger than we. Because they could stand that these were not monsters. These were men... trained cadres. These men who fought with their hearts, who had families, who had children, who were filled with love... but they had the strength... the strength... to do that. If I had ten divisions of those men our troubles here would be over very quickly. You have to have men who are moral... and at the same time who are able to utilize their primordial instincts to kill without feeling... without passion... without judgment... without judgment. Because it's judgment that defeats us."

Let me understand this, Lincoln Chaffe who says what he really thinks after he loses is a good person on a failed mission.  But Jim Leach (according to another thread) who stuck to his ideas, was a liberal REPUBLICAN and a good guy is an enabler?

Doesn't Schumer back Bolton? A couple Democrats do at least.

Chafee should be shot. I take that back, he should be hung, preferably after being tortured.

Do we have to give up a first round draft pick? I hope not, because I think we have a good shot at drafting offensive lineman Al Franken.

hey for all Lieberman has done, he hasn't said he will leave the caucus.... and i don't think chafee would have switched...... He could have easily done so before the election and assured reelection but didn't....

Given that he no longer has to hold his father's seat...Lincoln could switch...I'd put the chances at 1 in 3

 A pretty remarkable statement.

The rest is as expected. Chafee doesn't like Wahsingotn Republicans but feels connected to Rhode Island Republicans. And he might consider running for office again.

Maybe he'll run for Governor as a Democrat in 2010, given his statements. Smiley

I'd rather he ran as an Independent. He'd be fine even as a Republican as Governor, though. It's only in legislatures where party matters.

An audio clip of Chafee comments:

http://www.projo.com/extra/election/2006/1109_chafee_on_losing.mp3

Here's another one where he talks about why he lost. The first thing he mentions is the Casino issue on the ballot, and the Casinos turning out urban voters. This is one of the two main reasons I predicted Whitehouse would win in my posts before the election!

Isn't he your hero? Shouldn't you be thinking of leaving the party too?
