I was worried about him initially. I thought he could possibly hold on like Melissa Bean looked likely to then (and she did), but I knew in a presidential year it'd be all that harder.

However, he shocked me and I assume everyone by getting over 60%. I'm not so worried anymore.

The new Democrat I'm most worried about (besides Lampson, who is basically a lost cause) is Jason Altmire. If he was more of a populist type, he could hold the district, but he looks exactly like your typical preppy, slick, liberal type. I hope he's at least pro-life. Otherwise he's in for one hell of a race, especially if Hart makes a rematch.

Rock star? He's not that great of a candidate or a congressman. He should keep winning, but he's nothing amazing.

FWIW, his district is the one containing Gambier, OH, where in 2004 Kenyon College students stayed up until 4 in the morning in extended voting because so many people were in line when the polls closed. He's got a good volunteer base right there.

I'm pretty sure Altmire is pro-life.

Space's 62%-38% victory over Joy Padgett was pretty strong for OH-18.  In 2004 the district voted 57%-43% for George W. Bush.  Based on those results, it would suggest he is safe.

It was a referendum on Bob Ney.  He is a goner, by the way I acidently voted yes.
