Why are Inhofe and Allard unpopular?

Generally what strikes me is how few people have negative ratings; then again, I suppose that as a Senator you don't ever have to take personal responsibility for really unpopular policies, unlike a Governor who may have to increase taxes or cut services and gets personally blamed.

Allard has always been controversial. He is a very conservative Senator in a state that was never very conservative and moving pretty quickly to the other side.

The whole situation with Inhofe is odd. I thought he was popular.

My rationale is this:

Oklahomans see Brad Henry and many Democrats in the state doing a good job, then they see Jim Inofe who hasn't particullarly done anything for the state, and they are probably ready for a change in their delegation.\

I'd hardly call Brad Henry your typical Democrat, he is much closer to James Inhofe than he is to most of the Democratic party

It is obviously that quite a few statewide oklahoma democrats are quite liberal... but they have done a good job for the state, and they never have to vote on anything.

Still my point remains no liberal and probably no moderate Democrat (just conservative ones) will be elected in OK anytime soon
