should be interesting.  A self-righteous religious that uses faulty intelligence to launch an unwinable war or a RINO who's pro-welfare, anti-gun, and just as much full of himself.  Your choice.

Honestly?  I really don't know.  At least with Bush, you know what you're going to get.

This WAS the choice in 2000.

While I don't agree with Neall Ferguson's assertation that John McCain was "the best war president we never had" I do believe that he would have been much better than the alternative.

Now it probably doesn't matter, but on January 20, 2001, I would have preferred a President McCain over a President Bush. Of course, I'd take President Gore over both of them Smiley

At least no matter what you think you of Bush he actually has idea and doesn't spend his entire life trying to do what will get him fluff points and popular with the media

I would be truly afraid of president McCain

While I disagree w/ you most of the time on this point I agree 1000%.  I will also point out that I think most of Bush's ideas are bad ones ... but I believe McCain would let someone publicly attack his kids if it would further his career.

You could say that of virtually any unpopular politician.

A more interesting contest would be:

John McCain v. Bill Bradley
