Which senators from the opposing do you like and from your own party you detest?

Since my favorite senator is Ben Nelson and he is a Democrat he certainly is one and I also like Bob Casey Jr. (even though I'm angry he beat Santorum), another Democrat I am very fond of Mary Landrieu but she just isn't conservative for me

As far as my own party I detest Specter, Collins (not Snowe), McCain, Chafee, DeWine (there gone though), Voinivich, and Isakason

Anyone else have ppl from the opposing party they like and there own party they hate, or I am the only left who isn't a hack?

You certainly aren't the only one left who isn't a hack, but that statement as found in this context also does not mean that there are other people are not hacks.

Olympia Snowe has always been one of my favorite Republicans.  Robert Menendez has always been one of my least favorite Democrats.  I also don't particularly like Ted Kennedy.

Apparently you ought to add English comprehension to the list too.  Seriously, wtf did that have to do with Jake's post?

He refused to answer the question so I speculated his answer, does anyone actually want to answer the question?

Right off the top of my head, I know Jake voted for Rendell over Swann, at the very least.

Republicans I like: with Chafee gone, none.

Democrats I hate: Joe Lieberman, but he's not really a Democrat anymore.

Yeah, I pretty much voted for as many Democrats (2) as Republicans (2). Add in the Green, and you have more leftists than conservatives. I had trouble with the internet when I was thirteen, so you're forgiven.

Two things:

1) Why do you like Webb?

2) How can anyone like Kohl? Does he do anything?

I think he was talking to DWTL and referring to his inability to form a coherent non-hackish thought.

Republicans I Like: Snowe, Collins, Hagel, Specter

Although I like these senators, I probably would vote for the Democrat over them unless the Dem was truly worse than the Republican incumbent.

Dems: Menendez, Anyone who becomes corrupt within the coming years

Republicans I like: Snowe, Collins, Chafee, Hagel

Democrats I dislike: Bob Menendez, Frank Lautenberg, Joe Lieberman. I didn't mind Ben Nelson for voting with the GOP when they had a solid majority, but now that the Democrats have a thin margin, he'd better vote with the Dems on important issues or I'll be pissed. I doubt it would really hurt him that much to become slightly more moderate either; he has a 60+% approval rating.

Republicans that I like- Specter, Collins, McConnell, Chaffee, Snowe, Warner
Republicans that I hate- Santorum, Allen, Croynes, Frist

Democrats that I like- Lieberman, Schumer, Durbin, Reid, Nelson, Webb, and Tester. I've said it before, but I really feel like Jon Tester is a real life version of a Mr. Smith goes to Washington type.  Small town boy, going to D.C. to make change.
Democrats that I hate- Clinton, Clinton, Clinton, Boxer, Kohl, Kerry, Nelson (Bill), Rockafeller.

I think it was more his inability to write a post without a glaring spelling/grammar error.  The hack issue is separate.

Because, despite the instance of jfern, Webb is conservative at heart.  He's no hippie-lover.  I strongly respect and admire his military background, and wish we had more candidates like him on our side.

If one Republican had to go down, I'm glad it was George Allen.  I just wish he had been the only one to go down Tongue

2) How can anyone like Kohl? Does he do anything?

Why would I like a Democrat who did anything? Smiley

You are setting yourself up to be one very dissapointed fellow in the near future if you really think Webb is a conservative.

Don't believe any of the ultra-spin you hear from Fox News, HR - the vast majority of Democrats who won on Nov. 7th are NOT conservatives Dems, and Jim Webb certainly isn't one, either.

So I should instead believe the spin from DailyKos?  Jim Webb is a former Marine and Reagan's Navy secretary--and only resigned because he opposed DECREASING the military. Webb may end up voting like a traditional Democrat, which is understandable... but he's not one of your latte-sipping, Politically Correct, Manhattan-residing, pacifist, vegetarian, DailyKos-reading,gun-hating,Dean-loving whackos.  He criticized both Kerry and Bush in '04, and was probably right on the mark.  He is a real American, and a legitimate hero... he will be very lonely in his chosen caucus.
