While I favor free trade in general, given the lack of both political and economic freedom in Ethiopia, I cannot and will not support this bill.

While I support the theory of Free-Trade, in actuality Free-Trade is not Fair-Trade unless the currencies are on (or near) par. (i.e. NAFTA & CAFTA are bad economics, but Free-Trade with Canada & the Bahamas would be good.) Therefore, I will oppose a "Free-Trade" agreement with Ethiopia, not for political reasons, but for economic reasons.

Actually, as far as this bill is concerned... Even if it passed, I highly doubt it would recieve administration support.

My concerns about this bill mirrors those of Senator Ernest and in this form I will stand against this proposed Free Trade bill.

I'm retiring to Albany, Georgia over night. I need to reconsider one or two things Smiley and my family are as good as any one I can think of to seek counsel

I will be making a statement from Sugar Rose tomorrow morning as regards free trade and how I feel I should best proceed with it in the Sixteenth Senate
