Don't Forget Lou Dobbs. He's a disgrace too.

Thankfully not a senator.

I think the conversation around this topic BEGINS with Tom Coburn, who believes abortion providers should be executed by the state for murder.  He'd be followed by Jim DeMint, who has hinted that he would support laws limiting where gay and lesbian people can be employed -- ie, not in education or health care.  And, not to leave my own party out, Robert Byrd -- king of pork - is not without merit.

He didn't merely hint that. He blatantly said that if you are a homosexual you should not be allowed to teach in schools.

Here are some:

Bunning: Feeble minded
Coburn: Wants death penalty for abortion doctors
Sununu: Phone jammer
Cornyn: Thinks that gay marriage means people will marry turtles
Inhofe: Extreme anti-environmentalist
Stevens: King of Pork (I will admit Byrd gets a lot too)
Chambliss: Won by comparing opponent who had supported a Dept. of Homeland security 8 months before Bush, but voted against Bush's sh**tty proposal to Osama Bin Laden
Brownback: Whacko in some strange cult
Lott: Racist
Thune: Racist
DeMint: Supports extremely regressive taxes
Allard: Crazy Dobson guy

I'm sure I left out plenty of crappy Senators

I have a soft spot for Coburn's anti-pork tirades, but I lost the impression that he is a small-government conservative when he voted for that ridiculous flag burning amendment.  He also supports the death penalty for abortion doctors but has admitted to performing at least two abortions himself.

Nearly every Senator is a disgrace in some form or fashion, but not for voting in favor of a good immigration bill.  Why anyone would idolize Lou Dobbs, a xenophobic blowhard who doesn't understand economics, is puzzling.

why are republicans stronger on the border and democrats stronger against outsourcing? There is no consistancy.

Uh, because one is a socially conservative position and one is an economically liberal position?  Perfect consistency.  Contrary to what many "populists" and libertarians think, the good majority of this country is still either liberal, conservative or moderate.

The GOP isn't stronger on the border, they just don't realize that the immigration problem is a complex one, and complex problems need complex solutions that deal with all sides of the problem, not just one.
