My opinion.....

2008: (R-AZ) Senator McCain defeats (D-NY) Senator Clinton (Comfortable)

McCain: 359
Clinton: 179
2012: (R-AZ) President McCain defeats (D-IL) Senator Obama (Comfortable)

McCain: 338
Obama: 200
2016: (R-MN) Vice President Pawlenty defeats (D-CO) Governor Ritter (Close)

Pawlenty: 291
Ritter: 247

Just some fun guesses. I know electoral votes will change..but just for fun, I added my tallies.

2008-2016:  Jerusalem will continue to be the focus of world attention.

Ez 5:5 "This is Jerusalem, which I have set in the center of the nations, with countries all around her."

Zech 12:3 "I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. All who try to move it will injure themselves."

AND THEN THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY DISBANDS AND AMERICA IS PROSPEROUS FOR ALL TIME UNDER REPUBLICAN ONE-PARTY RULE

Seriously, we need to keep a count of the number of timelines people have made where one single party wins every single election.  I could swear there are a lot of them.

Did I start the Middle East conflict?
Am I a participant in any way, shape, or form?
Do I write the news stories reporting on the Middle East?

Despite those facts, I have no doubt Christians like me will be blamed for the coming wars in the Middle East.  After all, messengers carrying bad news have a short life-expectancy.

I wasn't referring to you, I was referring to the Biblical quotations you offered as apparent proof of why it would be so.

oh, ok.  in that case...Yes, the bible is self-fulfilling in that God can see into the future and guides the events of the earth:

"They did what your power and will had decided beforehand should happen." Act 4:28

I think his point is that it's probably the case that many people are saying "oh, the Bible says that Jerusalem will be the center of focus, I'd better focus on it", and as such, the idea that Jerusalem will be focused on comes true, but it wouldn't have come true if you didn't have a book saying it would.  Hence, self-fulfilling.

Here is my predicition

2008

 McCain/Guiliani defeats Clinton/Obama

2012

 McCain/Guiliani defeats Obama/Schweitzer

2016

 Jesus*/Zombie Reagan defeats Ritter/Nelson

*Jesus defeats Guiliani in the primary

God gets pissed that D.C. went for the democrats, and smites them all.

2020

Jesus/Zombie Reagan run for re-election undefeated.

And that is exactly how I understood it the first time...which is why I asked:

Do I write the news stories reporting and focusing on the Middle East?

2008: Hillary/Obama defeat Romney/McCain by a slim, but respectable margin. Dems hold the House and Senate till 2010 when the Senate switches.

2012: Hillary/Obama defeat Huckabee/Gingrich by a wide margin, verging on landslide (you can't beat 4 years of apparent-Democratic prosperity), but lose the House in the 2014 midterms.

2016: Obama loses to whomever the Republicans run. Dems finally retake their majority in the Senate.

Actually, I've held these opinions for a while:

2008--Clinton defeats McCain in close race
2012--Barbour defeats Clinton in not-as-close race
2016--Obama landslide over Barbour
2020--Obama landslide again
