Not sure if anyone has posted this somewhere else, but TIME has announced its Person(s) of the Year:
Link

Anyone who clicks that link is among the Persons of the Year. Anyone who gets their news through the Internet.

They must have concluded that if they had selected a real person it would have been a bad guy and rather than face that controversy they punted.

Wow. Amazing. Me. What a wonderful person. That's why so many people want to hang out with me on Saturday night. Hey, I'm the person of the year!

Or both, since their effect is the same.

I couldn't be more let down. I went to CNN.com just to catch up on the news and saw that. At first, I thought it was a joke. Then I realized that TIME magazine as a whole has become the joke. I guess it is better that Pelosi and the Dems didn't get ego-boosts though they likely deserved the title.

If you think that the opposing political party is equivalent to "the enemy", it may be time to seek out a psychiatrist.

Totally lame.  It sounds like a cop-out.  I suspect they wanted to give the title to that Iranian monkey (I'm not going to look up the spelling of his name) but as usual, have a problem giving the title to an evil person even when he/she deserves it.

Just what I was going to say.  Lame and a cop-out.

^^^^^^ Glad to see Time is finally doing something about the polarization of America. Smiley I guess Time can call itself "A uniter not divider".

It's been fairly apparent that hippies are in control of Time, and this only confirms it.

God, that magazine sucks now.  Although to be fair, this will still look more sensible in 100 years than Colleen Rowley being named PoY will.

Everyone knows that Time stopped picking the real person of the year a long time ago, and now go for whoever is least offensive and will sell the most issues. Therefore, I am proud to announce Time's Person of the Year: An Adorable Puppy.

the only US magazine I ever read any more is the National Geographic. Sometimes i'll read the Newsweek insert in the Bulletin, but that's about it-including online.
