I maybe be leaving the forum because I feel the partisan left wingers on this forum have taken it over and they trash just about every Republican politcan even the ones who don't deserve it and without reason. Also as a Repubican I feel unwelcomed here.

Kevin, if you were truly leaving this forum, you would have done so quietly without drawing attention to yourself.  In my experience, nearly everyone who has started threads like this stating they are leaving the forum 'for good' almost invariably return.  You will be no exception.

As the used car salesman once told me...

"We don't get excited about the ones who come in, kick tires and say they want to buy a used car...they're full of hot air."

(They get excited over the ones who say..."just looking.")

Take it from me, since I have been through this myself, no one who ever says they are "leaving the forum" in a public post ever does it.  The only people who have left did it by just disappearing one day.  Were they abducted by aliens?  Drafted into the Special Forces?  We never really find out, but they are the only ones who never really come back.  In fact, all of my most extended absenses all occured when I just stoped posting one day, then decided to just post for no reason at all a month down the road.  Anytime I have said "I'm leaving" or "I'm gonna be away for a while", I've been back in less than a week.  I imagine, one day I will just stop posting and not come back.  That day hasn't come, don't know when it will.

My suggestion to you is simply ignore those idots who post crap like that.  There are even some people who already post here who I decide to simply ignore for their lack of respect to anybody (no matter what political person or party is).

Take the high road and don't let the bastards get to you!

The reason you may be seeing a bunch of left wing posters now could have something to do with having a right ing President have approvals in the low 30's a disaster in Iranq and huge gains.

Anyway other than maybe a handful of posters (two or three) who are trashing tose on the right without reason, and which republicans who are being trashed do you think should not bed?

I do find the Forum leans to the left and it does occasionally get annoying. (Too far in any direction is bad.) In most cases, it's just better to say to yourself "What a f***ing idiot" and just move on to the next post.

if leaving the forum will cause you to cease posting threads like this one, by all means, go.

Here's another great thread worth bumping: Kevin's first attempt to cry wolf about "Democratic hacks" disconnected from reality in 2006.

Whenever someone announces that they're leaving the forum, it's usually the first time I ever hear of that poster.

Look at the dates of things...it's a necrothread.

I would give it a little time.  Since Hillary Clinton is leading the polls now, and will probably be our next president (perhaps defeating Mitt Romney in the general election, since his $ could buy him the nomination), maybe the forum Democrats will mellow a little when one of their own occupies the White House.  At the moment, they're just really ticked off about the war in Iraq, but that'll pass if the current strategy works out.

In the meantime, I do think the moderation on the forum could use some improvement.  I was thinking of making some suggestions to Dave on how the forum could be improved.  I'm going to ask about whether he might entertain the option of making Bushie and Inks moderators, and whether he might consider a new system for tallying the "infractions" against each poster.  We could call them "infraction points".
