British parties:
Conservatives:
Economic score: +4.00
Social score: +2.26
Closest member: islander
Lib Dems:
Economic score: -1.35
Social score: -9.3
Closest member: baystater
Labour:
Economic score: -6.97
Social score: -0.87
Closest member: Olawakandi
No surprises here - except that Labour is apparently to the right of the US Democrats (probably because the
slightly
more laid-back aspects of British politics mean that there are fewer "critical issues").

Looks pretty close to what I got for Obama when I tried answering like him (based on his actual policies).

-7.03 for economy, -5.48 for social. But I haven't taken the test in a while, so I might need to update these numbers.

Just updated my numbers. I've changed only slightly. Becoming a tad more economically moderate and a tad more socially left.

With Criticals:
Economic score: +4.84
Social score: +0.43
Your score pegs you as economically moderately capitalist and socially centrist.
Moderate capitalists usually support
free trade and
low taxes, but take pragmatic stances according to what they believe will be best for business and workers.
Social centrists generally believe in a mix of individual liberties and controls, corresponding to what they see as moral or best for society.

I've become more extreme (or maybe I've just labeled more issues as "critical").
Old:
Economic: +5.42
Social: -7.83
New:
Economic: +6.48
Social: -9.22
I've become more free-trade oriented.
Economic score: +7.61
Social score: -8.87
And I continue to march to the bottom right corner.
(I haven't really changed my mind about anything policy-wise - I suppose I'm just subscribing more and more to libertarian theory - what reading the
Reason
blog for a few months does to you . . .)
Economic score: +8.26

Your score pegs you as economically extremely capitalist and socially center-libertarian.
Extreme capitalists generally believe that the free market should be unregulated and laissez-faire in nature, with government either only intervening in extreme cases or never intervening at all. They also believe in significant reductions of government services. Many extreme capitalists believe that it is not the government's responsibility to assure welfare for the poor, but rather that the poor should fend for themselves or receive welfare through some form of private charity.
Social center-libertarians generally have moderate social views, with a slight lean toward avoiding government intervention. However, they support government intervention in matters that they see as threats to society.

Moderate social libertarians generally favor a hands-off approach to social legislation. They may believe that the government has no right to enforce morals, but may support certain controls on individual rights to avoid crime, drug use, or similar social ills.

So I guess I'm getting more extreme on social issues, while very slowly getting less extreme on economic issues.

[has anybody else noted that this term is unusual? Leftism typically refers to the economic side of things, whereas "socially liberal" is the more common term for the social side of things].
