Uh, yeah, because they really need to move people to South Carolina to make it dominated by conservative Christians.

Although, to be fair, SC does have fewer Evangelicals than most other Deep South states (surprisingly).  Still, a really weird choice.

I really don't agree with your hostility to Christian conservatives.

I don't fully agree with everything they espouse, but I think they're a necessary counterbalance to liberal forces.  They are a legitimate part of the political landscape in most cases.
Then why do you want them to leave for South Carolina?

When did I say that?
I think it was implied with your statement that you wanted to move to South Carolina.

They are a joke but I really wish they would do it.  We could round up everyone who thinks Pat RObertson or Jerry Falwell "have a point" and send um to SC... Though I think Iran is a more fitting place for them.  They would be happier there.  Just tell them that Islam translate as Christianity and that Muhammed translates as Jesus in Farsi and they will be very very happy.

Definitely horrible people.

fundamentalist Christians in general are a legitimate part of the political landscape, as are many other people that we don't necessarily fully agree with.

There are more fundamentalist Christians in America than far-left liberals. Anyway, I agree it's good to have balance, but where do you draw the line? Are racists a legitimate part of the political landscape? Or for that matter, do you believe feminists are legitimate part of the political landscape, especially in such a male-dominated society?

What exactly constitutes "legitimacy", in your view?  After all, anyone could extend the view that if something is wrong, it is illegitimate; your definition seems to be something remarkably wrong and out of the mainstream, which while it has its function, is a rather difficult definition in practical terms.
