No it's not. The warm anomalies in the Pacific Ocean began the phase of El Nino early this year. It caused the 2006 Atlantic Hurricane Season to be very inactive, while the Pacific saw more storms. El Ninos also create harsh weather in other parts of the world, including more mild winters for many Eastern states in the USA, and more storms for the Western and Southern states.

Forecasters think that this El Nino may begin a decline, and make the 2007 Atlantic Hurricane Season a busy one.

The last El Nino event this significant was in 1997-1998. The 1997 Atlantic Hurricane Season saw very few storms, while the Pacific saw many. There was also both a harsh and mild winter. The El Nino lessened, and the 1998 Hurricane Season was a very active and deadly one, with Hurricanes Georges and Mitch killing over 12,000.

It's not climate change. It's natural weather patterns.

My top 10?

1) My second-oldest niece didn't require a third brain surgery for another suspected tumor.
2) My oldest niece was tapped by two major Universities to skip High School and enroll with them.
3) My brother made it home in time for Christmas for the first time in years.
4) My sister-in-law and her kids survived a car accident with no injuries.
5) My friend is finally pregnant after 12 years of being involved with the love of her life.
6) I survived being bumped on I-95 on Christmas day with no damage to my car.
7) I had a sizable return on my investments this year.
Cool I continue to have good health and a good job.
9) I found the contact information for some old friends which I have not touched face with in over a decade.
10) If all things go well this weekend, the Giants will snap out of their losing streak, find the magic they had in the first half of the season, and play well in the playoffs.  Now THAT would be a big positive way to end the year.  Smiley

Muhammad cartoons controversy, Soccer World Cup, Israel-Hezbollah war, U.S. Mid-terms... not sure about the other six events. Perhaps the execution of Saddam Hussein, provided it takes place this weekend.

1) I fianlly realize that my "nice guy" behavior has to do with my insecurity... its not "nice" it is me thinking that I would feel secure if I just had a girl, thus, I was an asshole because I wanted someone to make me feel good about myself and not the other way around
2) I "creep out" a girl who I really liked being friends with, but started to try to get to be my girlfriend
3) Steelers fall apart
4) I'm STILL seeking my undergraduate
5) My firends all leave after graduation
6) My relationship with Sarah ends after 6 weeks
7) I decided that Giuliani is, without question, my man for 2008
Cool Democrats destory us
9) Justice comes to Saddam
10) I give my life away to Santorum... we get killed anyway.
