My selection as well. An affable member of the Senate, plenty of experience, reelected in a landslide year after year, and a fellow with great foreign policy knowledge.

I was hoping he'd be the man who was to replace either Powell or Rumsfeld.

i supported lamar alexander.

but the nc primary was so late that the nominee (dole) was already determined.  so, i cast my ballot for dole, to show unity.  you know sort of like...lets make it unanimous by acclimation.
