Saddam won't be a "martyr". Islamists hate him.
I've no doubt that most Iraqis will be rejoicing at Saddam's execution. That said, enemies of the West, the US and the UK in particular, will undoubtedly see Saddam as a "martyr". Never forget that old maxim "My enemy's enemy is my friend"
While Saddam was a secular Ba'athist who suppressed radical Islamism in Iraq, such radicals are not exactly the West's allies. Indeed, many of them are our enemy as much as Saddam was
Saddam's execution will not mark the end of the bloodshed in Iraq, any more than any US/UK withdrawal would
Still, justice, albeit Iraqi style, has been done
