Though the UAC has a plurality in the senate, but not a majority {well you probably noticed that}.
But several of us other senators have decided to form a coalition that makes up the majority.
Once 6 senators post here proclaiming to be part of the coalition, it will go into effect with:
Majority leader Statesrights
Majority whip Harry

What exactly is the purpose of this coalition?  What are the majority leader and majority whip going to do?

I'd assume they'd band against the UAC.

And work together to pass legislation which favors their respective parties, which might be hard given how diverse they are.

I find it interesting that the Democrats, IPs, Republicans, and States are trying to band together.  This group has no common theme behind it beyond anti-UAC.  Why don't you just form the Anti-UAC party and get it over with?

This is a sad attempt to hurt the UAC, and is purely driven by jealousy.

So there are 6 senators who secretly met together and decided to post their names on a thread entitled "majority coalition". Instead of representing their respective parties platforms as they were elected to do, it can only be presumed that they will just vote against anything the UAC supports in a kind of personal vendetta.

I think it's interesting the same people who complain about the UAC being too diverse are the now creating a "party" of an even more diverse crew to counter them.

Makes sense, huh?

So many silly assumptions.
i have never said anything to anyone about being anti UAC.
to assume that i would sell out my principles so easily is a little insulting.
if anyone wants to know where i'm coming from JUST ASK.

Ok then, whats the point of this 'coalition'? Is there a specific piece of legislation you are trying to get passed with this?

as easy as that.
i have not made and will not make any deals regarding how i vote on anything other than that.

But the thread doesn't even say anything about PPT.  It proposes a Majority Leader and Majority Whip, which as far as I know, are meaningless positions.

And why would Dems and ULers want Statesrights to be PPT?

In order for SR to be elected PPT, one of the ppl who voted for JFK must have changed their mind. Who was it/might it be?

I can't say what the motives of the others are.
but i'm the same old left wing radical i have always been.
and i can't very well "represent" the platform of the party i was elected to represent since they are defunct. Tongue

Well they are replaced by two better parties, the AFIP and the UL. As long as they both support the same candidate come October, everything will be peachy Cheesy

We all have different motivations.  I was very disappointed by the results of the vote on the President Pro Tempore.  I helped establish the coalition to ensure that no position was filled and no legislation authorized without first being discussed in full.  I believe a certain amount of institutional opposition to the plurality party will ensure that no decision is made without first being thoroughly examined by the other members of the senate.
