John McCain...I'm serious. He's elder over 70 years old, which cancels out the liberalism of the "young generation", he can work with all parties, which ends the division, and he knows war and can help us win in the war on terror.

Being really old is generally not considered a good thing.

I doubt that will be anything close to true after he campaigns as the Republican nominee for president.

he knows war and can help us win in the war on terror.

That's such a vague and meaningless statement that I'm not even going to bother addressing it.

Anyway, I'll go with Russ Feingold.  Whether or not you like him, the man is extremely principled, and knows where he stands.

I really don't think Russ Feingold has the foreign policy or national security experience to be President.  I think he's an excellent member of the Senate, but I wouldn't be comfortable with him as our commander in chief.

What is he lacking in those areas that, say....... George Bush, Bill Clinton or Ronald Raegan were not?

Bernie Sanders. I'm no fan of his politics, but he's  the only Senator not completely tied to either party. An independent voice.

I love Russ Feingold too, but he is more liberal than Kerry, which just won't work in this conservative country of ours.

The following would also be good choices:

Chuck Hagel
John McCain
Olympia Snowe
Sherrod Brown
Evan Bayh
Richard Durbin
Barack Obama  Wink
Patrick Leahy

I'll agree.

Even though I don't agree with their politics I don't think Jack Reed, Mitch McConell or Carl Levin would be terrible Presidents.

Honestly, I don't find any of them to be presidential material. If forced to choose one...it would either be Susan Collins or Chuck Hagel.

If forced to choose, I would say Evan Bayh or Dianne Feinstein.

I know someone who didn't vote for her because she was too conservative.

The USA is conservative? News to me. On every issue Americans are generally liberal.

Best:  Russ Feingold.  No one else would come close.
Worst:  Joe Lieberman/James Inhofe/Ted Stevens.
