One of few Senate Democrats I respected, but his remarks were worse than Lott's.

Dodd's okay, but he has absolutely no chance for the presidential nomination.

Dodd and Biden (and eventually Kerry) are jokes in the 2008 race.

As a Senator - subpar to so-so range.  Clearly the junior Senator is a million times better.

An ineffective liberal robo-Senator from the Northeast with big eyebrows and an even bigger ego (President?  Ha!).

Hear hear.

If all the posters from red states in this thread love Lieberman so much, it shows why he lost the nomination.

I saw a bumper sticker the other day that said: "Joseph Lieberman is a Republican Tool". And I laughed, and laughed, since it was true. (I voted for Joe in the August primary, so don't think of me as an out of touch blogger)

Dodd is clearly the better Senator. He obviously won't win the Presidential Nomination, but he's much better than that moron John Edwards. He follows in the footsteps of great Connecticut liberals such as Abraham Ribicoff and Ella Grasso.

I had one awhile but like it better without.

P.S.  Dodd and Lieberman are awesome after Weicker, who is unfit to shine their shoes.

Its so easy to take a shot at Weicker, even people here still hate him. But the man had a tough decision to make back in the early 90's. The defense industries that supported CT's economy vanished or downsized at the end of the Cold War. We had to make up that lost revenue somehow. One way was the Foxwoods Casino, the other is the income tax, which is a better tool than the sales tax.

And that would have been all right if his campaign had been all for it instead of all against it.  At least he was out of the Senate, though.

I was about to argue against you, but you love Dodd for being Liberal, and your happy that he is, that's cool.

And Dodd voted for Ashcroft, so that's cool, too.

I have mixed feelings about Foxwoods. I don't approve of gambling, and think its a shame to see old people throwing their life savings away. However, the casino has provided the state government with a lot of money, that would have otherwise been raised through unpopular taxes, so it has been very beneficial.

I like him.  I'm open to hearing what he has to say if he runs for President.  Though I still lean toward Gore and Obama (in that order).
