I like that he doen't tote the party line, even though I don't usually agree with him.

If you can find a libertarian Senator - it's him.

Another great Senator - the last three days have had my top 10 Senators.

Will criticize his party before he votes 100% with them. A useless media whore like McCain, but not a traitor like Lieberman.

His stand on Iraq makes him the most tolerable Republican in the Senate.  Or would anyone prefer Coburn?

Many would.  But not me.

I don't like Hagel's views on social issues or a lot of things.  But I like the man.  A lot.  It takes guts to criticize your own party's President in war time.

Because no one else in the Senate will say absolutely anything just to get on television.

Well, 1st he hasn't had that much media attention--so where yall are getting the media whore thing from I don't know.

I like him b/c he's a social conservative who can get the backing of the centrists by opposing the Iraq war--and ass most of you know by now--my most important feelings are about social issues.

Disagree with him on the vast majority of the issues, but one of the few tolerable Republican Senators.

I appreciate his reasonable stance on Iraq, but he voted to authorize the war when it mattered. Not to mention that he's a party-line vote on social issues, and he's one of the most economically conservative Senators.

He seems quite an interesting guy - I believe in his first few years in the Senate he was just a standard issue Republican, but now he has been really critical of Bush.

His stances on abortion and gay rights are hardly Libertarian.
