1. Labor
2. Democrats
3. Greens
4. Liberals
5. National
6. One Nation

Perhaps the test is a little off...multiple people (from Austrailia) both on these boards and others say I'm pretty close to the AusDems...

No question asked if I wanted to keep the bastards honest...which I do. Really do.

Question #2 is terribly worded: Do you support a strong immigration program? That could mean like 10 different things.

Too bad the Aussie Democrats aren't doing well lately (to put it mildly).

Well, this test is awful, but it could be worse.

My real life ranking:

1. Australian Democrats
2. The Greens
3. Australian Labor Party
4. Liberal Party
5. National Party
6. Family First (One Nation doesn't even exist any more!)

The test's results:

1. Australian Democrats
2. National Party
3. The Greens
4. Australian Labor Party
5. Liberal Party
6. One Nation

I'm genuinely surprised by this as I'm a member of the Labour Party in Britain, and I particularly admired the former Australian Labor PM's Bob Hawke and Paul Keating. The ALP's five victories in the 1980s and 1990s and generally moderate policies were seen as something of a model for new Labour.

I imagine that the selector must place particular weight on foreign policy issues given my commitment towards an assertive pro-western foreign policy and support for robust action against terrorism.

True. Blair went to Uni with and is, I think, still a personal friend of, the Premier of Western Australia.

I'd probably put you as Dems-ALP-Greens-Lib-Nat-ON, but it depends a lot on where you are as well. The Victorian Greens are quite different from the Greens in NSW for example.

Basically it's difficult to transmogriphy (sp?) people into Australian politics, possibly New Zealand is the only one that's harder in the anglosphere; but you'd def. vote ALP over the coalition which is all that really matter most of the time :S

Also Al, the Premier of Western Australia is now Alan Carpenter (I had to look that up Tongue), not Geoff Gallop.

What, you expect me to try to keep up to date with such things? Tongue

Former Premier then. Point still stands Grin

6. One Nation

I wish the Australian Democrats could get back on their feet, but the party is probably doomed.
