Why is Romney considered a front-runner when Gingrich usually crushes him in the polls for third-place?

One: Newt isn't an announced candidate

Two: No Ron Paul will not get the nomination

I never said he had a chance at getting the nomination, but I still support him.

Neither will Tancredo.

Gingrich gets a ton of name-recognition votes.

Neither will Barack Obama, we could do this all day.  At least Tancredo runs on more than "Hey I'm black, vote for me"

Romney already raised more than twice as much money as his competitors combined, and he's most likely to be backed by the business establishment. Rumor has it he's also courted the Bushs behind the scenes, so if he could tap their fund raising network, he'd easily outspend all opposition. Irrespective of poll numbers, he's simply got the potential to wage a competitive race.

Romney is a gifted executive, an inspired leader, and possesses an exceptional intellect.

I'm not sure why Romney is considered a front-runner, he hasn't a chance in hell of winning the party's nomination.

Since when does exceptional intellect help a candidate in a Republican primary?

Well said. He isn't even close to what I would consider a front runner (yet at least).

If you think Tancredo has a better chance of getting his party's nomination than Obama does his you should check your head.

Also please point me in the direction of where Obama has made his race an issue of the campaign.

I think DWTL is mistaking Barack Obama for Michael Steele. Come to think of it, a Michael Steele Presidential Candidacy would be the funniest thing ever!
